Organizational challenges (Culture) #17

Good point! Maybe a panel with 3-4 engineers commenting on their own experience?

I couldn't agree more! DevOps is a mindset rather than a set of technologies. The first thing to ask the management of a company that claims to do DevOps is whether or not they are willing to make changes to the process. If they are not, they just want to automate things, that is not really DevOps. DevOps is about getting feedback and improving on it. Also the person who coined the term DevOps will be in Sweden soon -> https://twitter.com/patrickdebois/status/1052092180578357248 It would be good to ask him 😄 |
DevOps is a mindset rather than a set of technologies.
I'm not sure about such a strong claim. DevOps means many different things for different people and
there is no consensus on a unique definition.
(Which makes it a powerful concept to my opinion).

Open-question to address in the course: How does a rubber duck fit in the DevOps process? |
@monperrus Not sure how Rubber Duck/Pair Programming is related to DevOps :) |
:) we'll see, DevOps is full of surprises.

The biggest challenge I see with DevOps is an organizational one. If a company did not start growing with a DevOps mindset, there's many challenges in changing methodology of an entire enterprise.
Quote from Effective DevOps:
How could this be discussed in a course format?
