Steps to reproduce

Define a key with no value in the config. For example, the following config has no value defined for endpoint_discovery_enabled

[default]
region = us-west-2
endpoint_discovery_enabled =

Read value for endpoint_discovery_enabled

Observed behavior

The value for endpoint_discovery_enabled will be a string with single space.

Expected behavior

The value for endpoint_discovery_enabled should be undefined.
