I know this is supposed to be a KDE daemon, but I think it would make sense to have at least the "active" sensor run before a user has logged in.
Here is my use case:
I have two Dell monitors that have an annoying pulsating standby LED light. I was trying to use two smart plugs to turn off the monitors while the computer is not active. This works as long as user is logged in. I could also make the monitors turn off when the computer shut down, but then after booting I couldn't get the monitors to turn on again unless I logged in (blindly).
I can imagine that running such a service as root could also be a potential security risk though.
