Hi @tianon

since the update on DockerHub yesterday I'm missing directory /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/ and command update-ca-certificates!?

3.3-alpine3.21

With the previous version everything was fine:

3.3-alpine3.19

Where (3.3/alpine3.21/Dockerfile) and why has this gone?

@thomas-merz thomas-merz changed the title directory /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/ and command update-ca-certificates is missing since 3.3-alpine3.21 directory /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/ and command update-ca-certificates is missing in 3.3-alpine3.21 Jan 15, 2025

The builds from #497 (comment) should've gone out yesterday (docker-library/official-images#18238) but there's been some kind of glitch 😞

I'm digging in right now.

@tianon ,did this happen again with https://hub.docker.com/layers/library/ruby/latest/images/sha256-ffee23ed92ecc75ec88a1b6365f6951f08a0647a6d6cb31c0caeeaa2ab40ad27 because my jobs are failing since then? 🤔

Hi! This is expected, the change was only backed out for the available patch versions at that time. Ruby 3.3.7 was released, and it now contains those changes. The other non-EOL versions will also pick up this change over time when new releases are available.

You can either manually install the package (ca-certificates I think), or pin to the previous release for the time being.
