What version of Hono are you using?

4.7.2

What runtime/platform is your app running on? (with version if possible)

Bun

What steps can reproduce the bug?

In the middle of onboarding a new user onto our team Hono was unusable on both their Windows desktop and Macbook (within a linux devcontainer). We don't know how to reproduce this error since it's seemingly random but looking to see if anyone experienced it and found an issue in honojs starter honojs/starter#77.

What is the expected behavior?

What do you see instead?

After upgrading Bun from version 1.2.2 to 1.2.3 experienced the same problem

getting the same error as in honojs/starter#77

using hono starter template for bun, on bun v1.2.3 it can be reproduced consistently

also doing this fixes the problem

- export default app
+ export default {
+   port: 3000,
+   fetch: app.fetch
+ }

This is a hypothesis, but Hono's internal member properties conflict with Bun's built-in properties...?

Frankly, I don't think Hono would change this for compatibility.
I think bun users will have to manually assign fetch.

Hi @Souvlaki42
Next version of Bun, will be working!

We should wait for Bun 1.2.4
