Which backgrounds are frozen? Never heard of this problem.

I mean, if you press the home button or have an incoming call during the emulation, you cannot resume emulation unless you restart the emulator.

Ah yes, that is indeed a problem that needs to be fixed. Changed the issue title.

This problem affects me as well. I'm using Android 4.2.2 (Nexus 4) with PPSSPP version 0.6-755-g76433a4. Upon resuming the app via the app switcher, it freezes and displays a black screen.

Fixed! At least works for me now.

If I press the home button when playing a game and then reopen ppsspp it's normal that emulation isn't resumed? (I see a corrupted screen but doesn't freeze anymore)
If I remember well it has to do with display list.

Hm, I wouldn't say it's normal as it's intended to work and it works for me, although I haven't tested extensively yet.
Sigh, these bugs are annoying to debug :P

I tested more games and 'resume' works for most of them.
I assumed it doesn't work because it not worked for the first game I tried :)
