Need a basic getting started guide?

I have installed JDEE and JDEE server as per the GitHub readme. However now, I have no idea how to actually get started with it. I have tried to following some of the tutorials on emacswiki but most of the links are broken or very outdated.

How do I open my Maven project and start coding whilst making use of the JDEE plugin? Perhaps a small page on the GitHub Wiki would be most useful
