Might be useful for emacs-jupyter users to know that Pandoc now handles exports from .org to .ipynb format pretty well. See changelog of Pandoc 2.19.2. Also, Pandoc has a nice Emacs frontend: Pandoc-mode.

Just to add to this, it would be very helpful to know how to actually do this.

First, you need to install pandoc, then use the CLI from Terminal or the Emacs client (pandoc-mode).
