  • Browser: Chrome Version 70.0.3538.102 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • Operating System: Windows 7/8.1
  • Stylus Version: 1.4.23

ok I've found what was happening,
I'm running ccleaner daily (or almost) and the following two files were deleted because of a rule named "chrome logs":

D:\Utilities\PortableApps\GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\Default\IndexedDB\chrome-extension_apmmpaebfobifelkijhaljbmpcgbjbdo_0.indexeddb.leveldb|LOG|0|0|24

D:\Utilities\PortableApps\GoogleChromePortable\Data\profile\Default\IndexedDB\chrome-extension_apmmpaebfobifelkijhaljbmpcgbjbdo_0.indexeddb.leveldb|000003.log|0|0|24

I added them to exclusions and everything is fine, no more deletions

and the portable installation is by portableapps platform, always quality work from them,
I've been running many of their apps and for many, many years without any single problem,
you shouldn't underestimate portable apps because they work absolutely great!

This should be documented in something like FAQ section etc.

Reported, but apparently not related to CCleaner: https://forum.piriform.com/topic/52923-issue-with-chrome-portable-databases/
Updated: https://github.com/openstyles/stylus/wiki/FAQ#why-did-all-my-styles-disappear

They work great for Firefox, just not for Chrome in the way that you're expecting. It says so right on the install page:

portableapps

Btw, if you're looking for a truly portable Chromium, check out Cent portable. They modify the browser to be truly portable. It has a bunch of other cool little features, but portability was the main selling point for me.

This will likely be resolved in an upcoming update for winapp2.ini (/ccenhancer). This happens from time to time but hopefully the current discussion will put a permanent fix/policy in place to address this.

It's my intention that winapp2.ini entries not unexpectedly break user's configurations, and I think this issue stems from too ignorant of an approach to the LevelDB log files generated by Chrome extensions.
