Not possible to add any users to ownCloud (User problem) #1209

Most probably a user authentication backend which can't list the users is enabled (e.g. webdavauth). It is correct that in that case you shouldn't be able to create users (since there's no way for ownCloud to create them in the webdav backend, and you would possibly overwrite existing users if creating locally). The error message however could be better - instead of "user exists" it should be something like "Backend xyz doesn't allow user creation"... |

I'm hoping this will get picked up by whoever is responsible for user backends, as it would require a little redesign I guess ... I'm only browsing here too, usually I'm more active in the forum ;) |

A user has reported an error whenever he tries to add a new user, an alert message is shown letting he know that the user already exists.
Server Configuration
ownCloud version 4.5.5 on a LInux machine with a self signed SSL certificate
He accesses over a nonstandard port.
