Collection not rendering correctly

I wanted to add a project section on the homepage similar to posts and for that i added two files:

1. projects.html in layouts/_default/
2. project-entry.html in layouts/partials

following the structure included for posts (for sample).
I also included other parameters for metadata like techStack, githubURL, liveDemo.

The projects are getting rendered correctly on the /projects page but on the home page it is rendering the content of the /posts folder like its title, subtitle and tags.

I don't know what am i missing here. Can you guys help me?

So first of all, I don't understand what you're trying to achieve.

Can't you use the builtin method of displaying a collection on the homepage?

If you want to add two collections, I would suggest you to simply duplicate this code inside home.html, hardcoding your collections: https://github.com/tomfran/typo/blob/main/layouts/_default/home.html#L37-L59

If you need to modify what you want to show, for example the tags, and stuff like that, simply modify the existing code that renders the list.

I would suggest you to simply duplicate this code inside home.html

It is the same code that you have mentioned. I am just using another partial file project-entry.html that i have used for the projects.html page. Although the content in the /projects page is rendered correctly. But in the home page its not rendering the title and subtitle i have provided in the project-1/ and project-2/ directory. Rather its taking from the post-1/ and post-2 directory.

I am just trying to show the title and subtitle for my projects on the home page 😅

You are doing something wrong, I just tried to duplicate the code, and add two new parameters as suggested, it's working fine:

Not sure what you are doing honestly, but this seems like a Hugo issue rather than a discussion about Typo.

Thanks for this but how do I change the content in second collecton? Both are using the same collection present in posts directory right? and I already tried with using another collection key homeCollection2 = 'projects' so that it would use the projects/ directory but it doesn't work.

I can't try right now, but it should work with no problems.

I suggest to take a clean version of Typo and retry what you're doing, perhaps you introduced some changes that modify the normal behavior. Let me know if this still doesn't work, as there might be a problem then.

I installed a clean version of Typo and created both the collections with changes in the hugo.html file as well as home.html file. Here's my directory structure:

and it doesn't work (i changed the titles of all the projects). Even though the home.html says it to look for projects/ directory.

I think it needs something else that is missing in the markdown files.
