Travis does free CI for open repos. Getting this running will be easy, but making it meaningful with real checks could be very hard.

I remember having issues running R CMD CHECK remotely because of an API key issue. Any idea on developing checks that can run?

I think this issue is more about writing meaningful tests than just implementing travis. I've changed the name to reflect this.
