I was about to give the domain name to opentabs.de (a startup from Munich that independently picked the same name from the meme-sphere, a few months after we did), but since I'm still interested in alternative finance and may want to refer to opentabs in my CV, I decided to keep the website live.
This week after talking to ecsa.io / robinhoodcoop.org I thought a bit more about opentabs and still think it's a useful alternative to exist, next to blockchains and transitive-trust networks. So today I decided I'll try to install LaTeX and write a whitepaper explaining the full cycle-resolution algorithm and comparing its merits to other systems. I think I'll rephrase the tag-line from "Money without Banks" to "Money without Currency", as I now think it describes the advantages of OpenTabs better.
I'll probably also move the website repo from here to my personal github account, as it's not really related to unhosted (except for project genealogy). If people would like to join the project / co-author the white paper, let me know; in that case we can create a new github-org for it (can always still do this in the future).
