I made updates which:

  1. allow for installation on Ubuntu as well as Debian and RHEL systems.
  2. downloads RHEL6 CIS rules
  3. allows selection of CIS rules by distribution
  4. Adds configuration options, namely
    • disable email_notification
    • add command configuration
    • add <syslog_output> on the server

…ver configuration variable with a dict of server, port, and format values
… it is ossec-hids. The init system on Debian/Ubuntu also expects /var/ossec/etc/ossec.conf while RHEL expects /var/ossec/etc/ossec-server.conf
…If not given, then all CIS distributions will be used
