The symbol '+' appearing in the input can mean two things: 1. It is a symbol for concatenation if and only if the symbol appears between two quoted strings. 2. Otherwise, it is an unquoted string (a.k.a. "identifier") This has practical relevance, because positive numbers can be represented by prefixing them with '+'. For example the following input: ``` max-elements +8; ``` It would be a valid sub statement for leaf list.
