Caution
Gmail Desktop has been recently renamed to Meru (email in Japanese). It's an effort to rebuild this project from ground up with the latest web technologies and using the most up-to-date Electron (Chromium) version to ensure performance and security. Therefore this project is currently in development and previous version are considered deprecated. Keep an eye on releases in the future when Meru is stable and ready to be used. In the meantime you can join the development discussion to help building the initial version of Meru.
