  • For non-Linux: Is sandboxing enabled in nix.conf? (See Nix manual)
    • sandbox = relaxed
    • sandbox = true
  • Tested, as applicable:
  • Tested compilation of all packages that depend on this change using nix-shell -p nixpkgs-review --run "nixpkgs-review rev HEAD". Note: all changes have to be committed, also see nixpkgs-review usage
  • Tested basic functionality of all binary files (usually in ./result/bin/)
  • 23.11 Release Notes (or backporting 23.05 Release notes)
    • (Package updates) Added a release notes entry if the change is major or breaking

We should probably wait until nix-community/nix-direnv#417 gets merged and released in a new version to avoid a broken version.

nix-community/nix-direnv#419 is now open. That version will likely supersede this PR. Unsure if we should close and re-open, or re-use this existing PR when nix-direnv 3.0.0 (or 2.6.0 if this PR is rejected) is merged and released.

Just released 2.5.1 to fix the last release. That one should be good to go.
